I love this place. The food is as healthy as you want it, with lots of veggies. They do a good job preparing it, it's always good, especially if you do a good job mixing up the sauces. Maybe Parv visited a different place-- I've been there like six or seven times and the place is spotlessly clean, and I've never seen people coughing on the food. (By the way, they do COOK the food, you know.) It's a good value, and a great option in Hilo.

Ted, who posted up above, is also a great host - he comes by and says hello to his guests, and no he's not my cousin, he just recognizes people who come back and treats them like part of the `ohana. Keep up the good work!

this message is for parv
no matter where you go people will sniff and cough, thats why they have sneeze guards.
also all of their food is refrigerated, sometimes i even see frost!!!
as for bare hands that is what the tongs are for, you must have been sleeping during your experience at mongolian grill!!!

This is certainly not for me. I just could not get over the fact that people were sniffling & coughing near the ingredients; handling food with bare hands. Meat & eggs were certainly not kept refrigerated.

Had my birthday dinner there. Would go back any time.
I don't care if it's a chain. It is the only place away from home that I can put my food together the way I want it - and not wash dishes.

We were elated to discover this in Hilo recently. And to think we'd almost chosen Subway next door... My only complaint - I added too many jalapenos by mistake! Silly me, I didn't read the "HOT" sign above it... Also, I didn't heap my bowls up because I didn't realise it would shrink so much and wasn't sure we were allowed to heap it too much (although one lady had a little Khan and it was loaded so high it was almost falling off). It was plenty of food anyhow, and certainly filled us up. We went for lunch and the price was excellent (we wanted somewhere with food for under $10) although they didn't have seafood on the menu.

I've been to a Mongolian Grill in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, maybe it's the same chain. Strange how they jump the 5,000 miles from Iowa to open a store in Hilo. It was good in Iowa, I just saw the Hilo restaurant the other day, I'll have to try it next time I'm working in Hilo.

I was going to suggest that you go eat here, but you already have! I love it, it's great food. When I was in Tahoe, we ate at a place called Fire & Ice, and it was the same concept (but on a bigger scale, and with more food options), and I came back raving about how neat it was. Then two days later I discovered Hi Ho Mongolian Grill!

I have been to their Chicago locations a few years ago. What I liked best is that it is very healthy food, it is almost impossible to make bad choices, other than eating too much! We are moving to Hilo in a few weeks and I am excited that Hilo has another new restaurant!
