James, aloha from a former kama'aina now living near Seattle. Next time you visit my new home, be sure to check out Ettas, Tom Douglass' seafood-oriented eatery on Western Avenue, near Pike's Market. The food is delicious there. Also near Pike's Market is Campagne and its more casual sibling, Cafe Compagne -- wonderful French food that's comforting and delicious on a cold day. If you have access to a vehicle, drive a few minutes north and check out Ray's Boathouse/Ray's Cafe in Ballard. This Seattle institution also does a great job with seafood, with more of a variety than Ettas, and features a gorgeous view of the water.

There are so many good places to eat here that I feel spoiled. However, whenever I go back to Honolulu to visit family, it seems that I spend my whole time there eating as well!

James,

I need to go back to Seattle. Instead, I always seem to be going back to San Francisco. I heard many good things about Dahlia Lounge, I need to go there the next time I am in the neighborhood.
