Aloha Luigi
Sorry about the camera-phone pics (I didn’t have my camera with me).

Serving up Italian and Mexican food is a cute little hole-in-the-wall downtown restaurant called Aloha Luigi. The smell of cheese and garlic smelled so good in there walking by, I had to stop by to try a slice of pizza! Service was really friendly; the man serving us may have been the owner (Luigi perhaps?). Nice guy.

Delicious pizza. Super thin foldable crust, very tasty garlicky sauce, generous amount of gooey cheese. Crust had a nice crisp and bite to it, a different style than Pizza Hawaii, which has a chewier bubbly crust. I really loved the sauce on this… tasted kinda like a tomatoey shrimp scampi (I think it was because of the garlic).
I hope to come back soon so that I can try Luigi’s other offerings!

My favorite is their Huevos Rancheros—left over from when it was Francine Marie’s–it’s so onolicious!

Luigi is my brother and for more years then i can remember he has been cooking the most fantastic italian food. I live on the main land but i helped open the first aloha luigi in kamula (sorry for the spelling). His food is fantastic and we both learned to cook from our parents.

I visited aloha luigi’s today and the staff brought my friend and I the wrong food. I was unaware of what my food was intended to look like because it was my first time to dine there. What i had in front of me was a small salad and what looked like a piece of bread with some cheese on it. What i ordered was ravioli and a pizza, but with the ravioli, with an extra charge of 2.50, “bread and a salad” come with the order. Thinking that what i had in front of me was the bread and salad, i then preceded to eat it, thinking that the rest of my food would soon follow. Let me remind you that there was only one other table dining at the time. When the pizza and ravioli were finally made, it went over to the one other table. obviously a mess up, i told the waitress that she was giving the other customers the wrong food. The owner then started to mock me by saying “what are you high? youre going to pay all that money for what you’re eating?… bla bla bla.” I had no idea that the piece of bread and the small salad was the “special of the day.” obviously a staff mess up, louigi refused to make the other patrons their bread and salad, so my friend and i were forced to share our 30 dollar meal with the other customers who’s food was less than 10. The worst part of the horrid mix up was that none of the staff apologized once. more apologies were being given by myself and my guest, along with the other guests, than by anyone else in the establishment.
The food was mediocre at best, the service was horrid, and the owner is penny-pinching moron. dont waste your money.
