Honolulu Coffee Company
Honolulu, Oahu
It smells so good everytime I visit (or pass) here. They make one of the best cups of coffee!
That big contraption in the middle of the store is a coffee roaster. I see them actually using it sometimes, so this might be why the coffee tastes so fresh.
I was lucky on my visit because their coffee of the day was the Kona Peaberry, a special type of coffee berry that less than 5% of the entire crop yields.
The flavor is much more intense and a bit sweeter than regular Kona coffee. It’s just hard to describe how happy this made me!
Also ordered was a Cafe Mocha.
Not too sweet with the espresso flavor still dominating, this was an excellent mocha!

They had peaberry brewed?! In all my visits (and there have been too, too many) I’ve never seen that before. I like that they always have Kona brewed and ready.

alan, that was the first time i’ve seen them with peaberry too! I don’t go there too often, though. I guess I was just lucky.
It tasted amazing!!

Hi James,
I prefer the coffee here to the coffee at Starbucks. The coffee isn’t roasted too dark, so the coffee doesn’t taste too bitter. I haven’t ever sampled the Peaberry here so consider yourself lucky!

Peaberry brew??? How interesting. Never knew that. Thanks James. I’ve got to try that.

Dean, I feel so honored
Thanks… This is a new blog, so I’m not sure I even qualify.
Reid, yeah, the coffee here is really well balanced. I do enjoy some Starbucks coffees (sumatra blend)… I like a bitter cup sometimes.
lance, yes, you must try it…. no words can explain!

Hon Coffee Co. is the absolute best cup and espresso drink that you can find in North America and the outlying states HI/AK. Seriously! Try the hazelnut roll next time and the best mocha hands down.
Sumatra is one of the best beans in the world.
Keep up the good work.
