I visited Hilo for a little over a week about 5 years ago and was fortunate to find this place from "The Big Island Revealed" book. I had a regular or spam loco every morning. Ono grinds. I miss Hilo. They can have the other side of the island. I'm only coming back to Hilo.

P.S. It's an easy stop if you're on your way to the Volcano Park.

The name Cafe 100 came from the 100th Battalion of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Mr Miyashiro (my friend's grandfather) was a veteran of WW2 and I believe started Cafe 100 post-war.

My wife and I visited our daughter and granddaughter in Kaneohe for most of December '06, while her husband is in Southwest Asia. We spent four days at Kilauea Military Camp and toured the area. We happened upon Cafe 100 and stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Kilauea Blast (rice, Spam, eggs, etc.)....Awesome! Thanks for the opportunity to share about my meal!
